Exhibitor Workshop

The Agricultural Hall at the Almonte Fairgrounds was filled with enthusiasm and community spirit on Thursday, August 7th as we hosted the Exhibitor’s Workshop, presented in partnership with the Ramsay Women’s Institute.
We want to sincerely thank everyone who attended—whether you’re a long-time exhibitor or just starting to explore the world of fair competitions, your participation made the evening lively, engaging, and fun.
Throughout the night, experienced Homecraft judges shared insider tips on what they look for when awarding ribbons in categories such as baking, sewing, gardening, photography, and more. Attendees even had the chance to take part in mock judging, comparing their own evaluations with the experts.
“Once you understand the judging standards, it makes viewing and participating in the exhibits even more rewarding,” said Mary Lumsden of the Ramsay Women’s Institute.
Special thanks to the Ramsay Women’s Institute for their partnership and expertise in making this workshop possible. Events like this truly shine because of collaboration and community support.
We’re excited to see how your new knowledge will come to life at the Almonte Fair this year—especially since last year, three workshop participants went on to win 1st place ribbons!
Browse the photo gallery below to relive the evening and get inspired for your own fair entries.
